The customer service at Military Brake & Alignment was friendly, but the quality of the brake pad and rotor replacement on my 2019 Toyota Camry was subpar, leading to premature rotor warping due to improper installation. I had the brakes and rotors replaced in September 2022. After approximately 12,000 miles (around 15 months later), I began experiencing pulsating brakes, which I initially overlooked until it was pointed out by others. In October 2024, after driving 23,000 miles since the work was performed, I finally visited a different mechanic as the issue got much worse and I couldn’t risk going any further. This mechanic discovered that Military Brake & Alignment had failed to apply lubrication to the rotors during installation, and the pins were rusted due to a lack of proper cleaning and lubrication. Unfortunately, I had moved across the state and since I did not contact the original shop before having the repairs done elsewhere, I was unable to take advantage of the warranty. While I acknowledge that I should have reached out sooner to address the issue under warranty, it is reasonable to expect a professional mechanic to follow standard procedures such as applying lubrication and properly cleaning components. The oversight in these basic steps resulted in additional costs for me as Military Brake & Alignment would not honor the warranty since it was done through a different shop (even with videos showing the issues with their install work). Furthermore, the mechanic who identified the issues with Military Brake & Alignment’s workmanship completed the repairs for nearly half the price I was originally charged. I would advise others to be cautious of both the substandard quality of work and the inflated prices at Military Brake & Alignment.
We have a very good warranty process that would have included replacing your rotors if they were under the 24,000/24 month period anywhere in the 50 states of the US. This could have been addressed in a manner that would not have costed you anything had you simply called us prior to paying someone else to do the work. Your front brake pads and rotors were replaced in September 2022, at that time the slide pins were lubricated and rotors and pads were brand new, over a 2+ year period of driving the lubrication can dry up sometimes, also driving thru large puddles of water often may cause rotors to warp as well. I apologize about the route that you decided to take but unfortunately the way our warranty works we can not simply refund you your money for work performed properly 2+ years ago. Please keep this in mind moving forward with anything that you may do.
